Shipping is actually much easier than you’d think as long as you have a big enough freezer for to get the skull completely frozen.
-
Wrap your specimen skull with a plastic bag and tie off with duct tape.
-
Wrap your specimen skull with another bag and tie off with duct tape.
-
Freeze it solid.
-
Get a good box big enough for whatever you’re sending.
-
Remove your specimen from freezer and wrap with old junk towels (will not be returned).
-
Line the box with a heavy duty trash bag.
-
Place specimen into box and fill with wood chips/bedding (I use the bedding material from Farm Store for small pets).
-
Print off the attached PDF file for information required for me to receive properly. Place into a zip-lock bag and put into the box.
-
Write your name and phone number on one of the inside flaps of box just in case the PDF page gets lost.
-
Tape the bag closed with duct tape and then tape the box more than you normally would for anything else.
-
Ship it to me on a Monday or Tuesday. Ship by whatever means so that it gets here before the next weekend. Also, get a tracking number for the package. Tracking numbers are very cheep now and may even be free with some services.
