Shipping is actually much easier than you’d think as long as you have a big enough freezer for to get the skull completely frozen.

  1. Wrap your specimen skull with a plastic bag and tie off with duct tape.

  2. Wrap your specimen skull with another bag and tie off with duct tape.

  3. Freeze it solid.

  4. Get a good box big enough for whatever you’re sending.

  5. Remove your specimen from freezer and wrap with old junk towels (will not be returned).

  6. Line the box with a heavy duty trash bag.

  7. Place specimen into box and fill with wood chips/bedding (I use the bedding material from Farm Store for small pets).

  8. Print off the attached PDF file for information required for me to receive properly.  Place into a zip-lock bag and put into the box.

  9. Write your name and phone number on one of the inside flaps of box just in case the PDF page gets lost.

  10. Tape the bag closed with duct tape and then tape the box more than you normally would for anything else.

  11. Ship it to me on a Monday or Tuesday.  Ship by whatever means so that it gets here before the next weekend.  Also, get a tracking number for the package.  Tracking numbers are very cheep now and may even be free with some services.

Basically, just over do it when shipping.  You don’t want give the shipper any excuse to discard your trophy.
